China National Standardization Technical Committee of Welding

1. Synopses
China National Standardization Technical Committee of Welding was funded in June 1985. The organization, of which the technical committee code is identified as CSBTS/TC55, is directly under the leadership by China State Bureau of Technical Supervision (CSBTS). The technical scope and field engaged by the organization are equivalent to that of ISO/TC44.

2. Organization Component
China National Standardization Technical Committee of Welding is composed of technical personnel engaged in the activities of production, service, scientific research, management and sales respecting to welding. The technical committee will be elected and appointed by administration for a term of five years. CSBTS will also issue the appointment letter to each member of the committee.

At present, China National Standardization Technical Committee of Welding is consists of 38 expert members. Two sub-committees were established. One of them is subjected to filled material and electrodes, and

Another is subjected to brazing and soldering. Those two sub-committees composed by 27 and 23 members respectively correspond to ISO/TC44/SC3 and SC12.

3. Main Task

The organization performs its function on following respects:

Prepare the welding standard system, put forward the program and annual plan relative to welding standard preparing, revising and reviewing;
Organize and execute the annual plan;
Organize the technical review activity to welding standards;
Take the responsibility of welding standard application, execution and explanation;
Undertake domestic management with respect to ISO/TC44, which may include: making a national statement to a cycled ISO documents or investigating each proposal;
Evaluate welding standards for quality supervision purpose;
Provide technical inquiry and service to industry during the application of welding standards.
